What is Biblical Counselling
Biblical counselling can be seen as a process of focused discipleship. That focuses on apply God’s Word and yielding to God’s Spirit when dealing with the matters of life as a whole and sufferings. You guide me with Your counsel,

and afterward You will receive me to glory. Psalm 73:24

How do I get started?

It is important you feel a good, warm connection with your counsellor. The best way to know if we are a good match is to arrange a no-charge 20 minute, meet and greet consultation by phone or online.

How are the sessions normally structured?

The first session is used to get a thorough understanding of your history and why you
are reaching out for help. This is done in two ninety-minute sessions with a short break
(10 minute) in-between.

Generally, there are 6-8 weekly, one hour sessions either online or in-person and then we re-evaluate the need to continue. Often people at that point, like to cut back frequency. Everyone is welcome to book sessions as needed from there on out.

What does a typical session look like?

Each session is personalized to address current needs and obstacles to experiencing God’s
supernatural peace and joy. We pray, I listen, we discuss how the previous sessions lessons
were applies or challenged, we open our Bibles, we talk and we pray

What if I need help, but can’t afford the session fee?

Everyone should have the opportunity to experience positive life change through Biblical counselling. Churches, close friends and family are often willing to help financially because it allows them to partner with you in this vital counselling process. Streams in the Desert Counselling fees are very affordable.
